YOUR ONE STOP FOR THE LATEST FISHING INFORMATION ON THE GREAT LAKES
YOUR ONE STOP FOR THE LATEST FISHING INFORMATION ON THE GREAT LAKES
Greetings fellow anglers: Captains Casey, Rob and Pete will be back again for the 2025 East End Salmon and Trout School. Together, they have over 80 years of experience, countless tournament wins and top 5 finishes. Their experience and knowledge is lake-wide and extensive. This year, we will break the school down in to 2 days to allow us to cover a wide range of topics and species. Many anglers had an interest in learning at how to be more successful at catching fish in general, not just king salmon. So we added a second day. That Sunday class will focus on multi species fishing and tactics.
Keep it as local as it gets! The 3 named Captain's are teaching you based on their experience and conditions on about Lake Ontario, after all you fish Lake Ontario as well. They have a vast amount of experience from east to west and north to south on Ontario. This value cannot be matched from captains from other Great Lakes.
The Great Lakes Trolling School is open to beginners, seasoned and professional anglers. The primary focus will be location, tactics, lure choice, programs, your mindset and how varying conditions play into our decisions. Our intention is to help you become a better overall angler, make you think about your decisions, and share our many years of Great Lakes experience. Captain Casey Prisco, Captain Rob Westcott, and Captain Pete Alex bring over 80 years of combined experience on Lake Ontario and look forward to sharing their knowledge with you. Those that attended last year, know that we did not hold back any information.
Captain Casey owns and operates the Dirty Goose charter fleet. He has been charter and tournament fishing for years and has fished with some of the best anglers on Lake Ontario. He purchased his own first "big" boat the Dirty Goose in 2014. Since then, he has purchased 3 more 31 foot boats and now runs a full time charter operation. Casey's home port is the east end of Lake Ontario but travels to the west end for nearly 5 weeks to target spring kings and coho. His season starts in March, by targeting shallow water browns and concludes after the fall salmon run has occurred. Known for his "meat game" Captain Casey also is very diverse with his spoon and fly presentations and will bring that knowledge to you this March. His passion for fishing and people will be evident after you have spent a full day with him. Casey invites you down to "his waters" to spend a day with him to learn and have fun.
Captain Rob owns and operates Legacy Sportfishing out of the port of Bald Eagle in Kendall, NY. Rob not only is an experienced and excellent captain, he also maintains an active role in the fishery as part of a multitude of fishing organizations including being an IGFA captain, president of the Lake Ontario Charter Boat Association, Sandy Creek Pen Rearing Coordinator, and Sandy Creek Shootout tournament committee director. Captain Rob loves the spirit of competition and has been fishing tournaments for about ten years now. With a handful of wins and numerous top 10's, this captain has earned the name, Mr. Consistency. Rob also has a normal job, like most of you and has learned how to "figure it out" like many of you have to. Rob will explain what he's been doing for years to do just that. Rob loves to talk fishing and share his knowledge with other anglers and is excited to bring that to you this coming March.
Captain Pete of Vision Quest Sport Fishing has been a charter captain since 1988 on Lake Erie and began chartering on Lake Ontario in 1990. He has fished Lake Huron, Lake Michigan and spends a lot of time on Lake Erie. He has traveled to 10 different ports to fish tournaments and has well over 150 top 10 finishes and numerous 1st place wins, including the May Big Boys, 2nd place Niagara Pro Am, Wilson Harbor UMS Challenge, Orleans County Open, Wilson Trout and Salmon Slam and the G.L.S.E. Lakewide Overall Championship. He considers himself a diverse angler on Lake Ontario and loves to target all salmonid and trout species. Like most anglers he started out the hard way, by watching others consistently catch more fish than him but he was determined at an early age to "figure it out" and has never looked back since doing so. One of the things he loves about fishing and "fish" is the challenges of locating and catching them with changing conditions, depths and tactics. He looks forward to bringing his lake wide experience to you this spring. He says, "anyone can catch em when its easy out there, its when it's tough that you earn your stripes in my book". Pete also loves to talk fishing and says were never to old to continue to learn.
Saturday Agenda: Will be focused mostly on king salmon (90%) and coho salmon (10%)
